Challenge
The count covered nearly 5,000 square kilometres of Auckland, required eight volunteer hubs and more than 500 volunteer sign-ups. MKTG supported in three key areas including onboarding corporate partners, end-to-end event management and media relations and social media management.
Solution
MKTG used network contacts to secure all items required for the count – we were able to deliver all items at discounted or donated rates required, delivering thousands of dollars of savings. We were also tasked with managing the coordination of eight volunteer hubs including sourcing site visits to check suitability and individual location requirements.
Responsibilities on the night included packing and delivering all volunteer supplies. Managing team leader and volunteer arrival on site, all tech requirements and the returns process for each hub once the count was finished.
We also delivered a comprehensive media relations campaign. MKTG supported the social media activity for the project from both a strategic perspective and in implementing posts pre, during and post count.
